Residence Hall

New Residence Hall Buildings

Maharishi Academy of Total Knowledge Residence Halls are new buildings built according to the principles of Vedic Architecture which bring the greatest benefits of health and vitality to the occupants. This campus will be one of the first campuses in the United States to have these buildings, which uplift the residents because of their design and environment-friendly building materials.

Each of our 14 new dormitory buildings will house 30–40 students—each with their own student lounge on each floor.

We respect the need for our students to enjoy quiet and privacy in their residence halls. For this reason, single and double rooms are available.

Special orientation programs at the beginning of the school year will acquaint new boarding students with all the new campus facilities and the Maharishi Academy Residence Hall Advisor Program.

Residence Hall Advisor Program Overview

Maharishi Academy recognizes that some of you may be away from home for the first time and that you will come from varied backgrounds, cultures, and habits.  Providing a home-away-from-home is essential for your boarding school success. Therefore adult support and guidance is necessary not only in the classrooms, but in your dorm life as well.  A Residence Hall Advisor program has been established to fulfill this need.

Each student dorm of 30–40 students will have at least one faculty member, or Residence Hall Advisor, living in that dorm. In the case where the male faculty is married, his wife will also live in the dorm. The Residence Hall Advisor program is designed to monitor the comfort level of the student and nurture all levels of the students’ personal development. The Residence Hall Advisors have been carefully selected and trained to structure a home environment with 24-hour supervision and personal, one-on-one relationships with each student.

At the end of each quarter, the Dorm Advisor will review the student’s level of maturity, support of fellow students, teamwork, and social responsibility. Time will be allotted to meet with each student and review his level of progress in these areas and evaluate the student’s general overall development, i.e. “quality of life.” This rating will be incorporated into the overall evaluation for each student.

The goals of the Maharishi Academy Residence Hall Advisors program will be:

  • To promote ideal student routine, including balanced rest with activity, bed by 9:30 pm, regular meals, focus on homework, etc. A balanced routine promotes the happiness, health, and stability of the student;
  • To implement procedures to deal with student discomfort or unhappiness;
  • To conduct periodic room inspection and personal interviews with each student each month;
  • To encourage student growth toward ideal social behavior;
  • To establish opportunities for students to develop leadership and become mature young people because they are part of something larger than themselves—larger than their own families.

Our campus environment will be international, dynamic, and filled with opportunities for fun. Every activity will be fueled by the vibrant energy and happiness that makes living and learning at Maharishi Academy so enjoyable. The friends you make, the sports you play, and the clubs you join can have a profound influence on your life.

The student body itself can be an endless source of fascinating conversations and enriching experiences. Simply being part of this group ensures that you will enjoy different cultures and perspectives, as well as deep common experiences during the course of your education.
